Paula for Model Number SGCV36G The left front eye will not turn on. There is no spark. When the large eye is turned on, the sparks continue with the two back burners. What should I do?
Answer Paula, often times the burner head will have a residue build up that can cause the ignitor to not spark. The first step would be to clear the burner head of any possible chance of residue. From there, the ignitor can be tested for continuity by disconnecting power to the unit, accessing the inside of the cooktop and testing the ignitor from the tip of the ignitor to the end of its wiring harness for continuity. If there is not continuity, then you will want to test the ignitor and wire separately to identify which one failed. If the wiring and ignitor check good, and the other ignitors will come on but not the front left, then the issue would be with the ignition device [00636439]. Read More...
