Manufacturer Part Number: 00653424

This is a replacement oven control board manufactured by Bosch. The oven control board is the oven's brain and handles all the functions. It also includes the display and provides users with the ability to control functionality, like bake and broil, setting timers, and more. While the oven control board does not include moving parts, heat and moisture can damage soldered components and lead to failure. Signs that the control board may need to be replaced include lack of information on the display, inability to control specific functions, or complete lack of operability. Note that this part is often misdiagnosed, so make sure to check the old board's operability with a multimeter before replacing it. To replace the oven control board, first remove the exterior cowling. Locate the wiring harness and disconnect it before removing the mounting screws. Install the replacement part following these steps in reverse. This genuine OEM part is sold individually. It only fits Bosch Thermador ovens.

Jill, The 00686205 / 00686205 Panel, will need to be replaced. At present we are not aware of a repair procedure for a glass capacitance key pad/ control panel. In most cases the panel is not "heat sensitive" but we have seen customers need to rub or warm their finger tips to make a selection. On these types of panels, each button or key has an electrical circuit passing through it. When you touch a button, the circuit is "disturbed" and the control recognizes the selection made and programs the chosen circuit. The majority of failures, is usually due to high usage, of one particular selection or program, and or cleaning procedures and household chemicals, use a damp soapy wash cloth to clean the control panel.
