Laurent for Model Number Thermador Cook'n'Vent CVS36R Our snorkel goes up and down, but has two issues: 1) fails to stop when it reaches the top or bottom unless you manually press the up/down switch a second time. (to be noted: it does stop automatically when it reaches the bottom, but not at the lowest position. It goes to the lowest position then comes back up and inch or two and stops without manual intervention.) 2) as the snorkel goes down, at some point it kind of slips (i.e., drops an inch) and then continues on its way down smoothly. I've been told I need a new gear motor. Does that sound correct? There are no strange sounds coming from the motor and it goes up and down without effort.
Answer Laurent, For the issue of the snorkel slipping at some point then yes this could certainly be a bad gear motor. For the not stopping when it reaches the down or up position then this would be the switches which are part number 00414396 and there are 2 of them. The part number for the motro si 00487567.
