Jim M. I only have a cabinet on one side of the dishwasher. Is that enough to side mount? I have granite over the dishwasher and it is suspended to the non cabinet side too. Bad situation. Can you use the granite mount in that situation or would you risk breaking it? I also see brackets to use for suspended granite. Roughly 1/2 x 1/2 bar intruding over the dishwasher to support it. Is there enough room to put one over a dishwasher Say Bosch and then granite mount? Not a good situation and looking for the best solution to installing a new one. As far as I can see the present one is either secured on one side (can't see it) or not at all.
Answer Hello Jim, You can probably get away with only securing the dishwasher on one side if you use the leveling legs to make the unit as tall as possible so it is against the countertop. As long as the unit cannot move it will be fine. If it starts to loosen up it will have to be tightened back up, (by making it taller again), since the unit being able to move will cause the door not to strike the cabinet of the dishwasher squarely and the door could leak as a result.
