Jim for Model Number SHX43C02UC/46 SHX43C02UC/46. Recently pulled dishwasher out to replace float switch. Ever since, cannot tighten screws for kickplate all the way or door becomes very difficult to close. Also notice strike plate is not hitting latch in center. Need to push door slightly to the right to get centered. Even with kickplate removed, door is harder to close than usual. There is slight rubbing of upper left inner door on main dishwasher frame when closing. This goes away when pushing door to the right. Unit is properly level, plumb, and secured. Never touched door hinges, but did pull on door a little to get unit out from under counter. Water line is tucked away and the strain relief plate is sticking out a bit farther than it used to, but doesn't seem to be interfering. Door gaskets are untouched and normal appearing. Door opens normally, just has trouble closing right before latching.
Answer Jim, it sounds like the dishwasher is not quite level, the door and the tub are not truly square to each other, Go the the side of the door that is hitting the tub and lower the leveling leg down to raise that side of the tub up until it no longer rubs. Door should be square to the tub. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, July 11, 2018
