Daniel for Model Number HBL5650UC/06 Top heating element won't heat. I followed the advice below from another anwer: "with the power turned off at the breaker, the unit can be tested at the relay control module 12022214. From relay connection X104 P-8 to X102 P-1, the wires going to the broil element 00144667 should read 16 ohms of resistance. If the resistance checks good, then the control has failed. If the resistance reads as 0 or OL, then either the broil element has failed or there is a broken wire that would need to be repaired. If the resistance reads lower than 16 ohms, the element has failed." Reading was 15.4 ohms, I assumed this is close enough to 16 (or within the accuracy of my multimeter) so I replaced the control board. Still the top element will not heat. I disconnected the element and ensured there is continuity across the element terminals. What should I try next?
Answer Daniel, You will want to test to make sure that there is 240 Vac getting to the element. If there power regardless of the resistance it would indicate that the element is faulty and would need to be replaced. If there is no power then check wiring between the element and the control board. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 25, 2020
