By: Bosch
Part Number: OEM12152265
Manufacturer Part Number: 00448806

The Spray Arm is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. It is responsible for evenly distributing water across the dish racks during wash cycles using a rotating arm and nozzle design.

Causes of a bad spray arm can include mineral or limescale buildup that inhibits water pressure/flow, or damage from accidental impact that impacts its rotation. Over time, normal wear and tear on plastic spray arms can also affect optimal spray coverage.

Symptoms of a bad spray arm include:

  • Poor or uneven cleaning results
  • Dirt or food debris remaining on dishes after cycles complete
  • Clogs or blockages in the arm and nozzle openings

This genuine OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau and select Kenmore models.

Alan for Model Number Bosch dishwasher - she43 (evolution)

I just removed the upper and lower spray arms for cleaning. Both arms had several holes clogged up with a yellowish material that looked like a gasket material that had disintegrated. At first I thought maybe there used to be some sprayers in the arm holes that broke down, but from drawings that does not seem to be the case. Any idea how this might have gotten there? Or any idea what it is? I have cleaned the arms and replaced for now, but would like to replace this gasket if you have an idea where it came from. The dishwasher is about 1.5 years old. Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it! Alan parts 448806 and 676933

Answer

Hello Alan, Unless the unit has bee over soaped and the dishes pre-rinsed, which would cause the chemical reaction to attack the rubber gaskets in the unit in addition to etching the glassware and removing patterns from plates, I would suspect that something has been put in the dishwasher, (normally unintentionally), that has made its' way into the spray arms. This is not uncommon since things on the counter can fall into the unit while the unit is opened for loading. After reviewing the model number and the parts associated, it looks like all of the gaskets for this unit are black rubber. I seriously doubt that the material in the spray arms is from the unit itself.
