Gerry L. for Model Number Frigidaire ES200/300 Electric Oven The Bake element broke in a flash of sparks and smoke. I just got the replacement part from you and installed it easily enough. The Bake and Broil elements are still not going on. The surface elements, clock, timer oven light are all good. Did the bake element going up in flames damage the circuit board or could it be another part? Last order number was 1982576.
Answer Hello Gerry. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the element shorted out the clock and the clock 316418704 will need to be replaced. You can test for voltage coming from the clock to the element. If none is there, replace the clock. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
