John for Model Number FEB24S2ASD A few weeks ago, the oven suddenly stopped heating. Neither bake nor broil work. The control board is still getting power. The buttons and clock still work, but the oven will not heat up. Before ordering a new timer (OEM11897243), I want to test it first. Could someone tell me how to test the old timer to see if it is faulty?
Answer John, if there is 240VAC reaching the clock timer OEM11897243, the elements and temperature probe can be tested after turning off the power supply to the appliance. The temperature probe OEM10090067 can be tested from the two violet wires at connection J1 and it should measure a resistance around 1100 Ohms. If it tests good, the next step would be testing the elements can be tested using the brown wire at the terminal DLB out. The bake element OEM11087315 would be tested from the brown wire to the yellow wire at terminal BA and should measure about 27 Ohms. The broil element OEM15996569 would be tested from the brown wire to the blue wire at terminal BR and should measure about 17 Ohms. If both fail testing, the safety thermostat OEM9633488 just to the left of the terminal block is likely the cause of failure and it can be verified by testing for continuity. If the safety thermostat does not have continuity, it has failed. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, October 16, 2024
