Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Clock Timer (Part Number: OEM11344452)

1 Answer

John, if there is 240VAC reaching the clock timer OEM11897243, the elements and temperature probe can be tested after turning off the power supply to the appliance. The temperature probe OEM10090067 can be tested from the two violet wires at connection J1 and it should measure a resistance around 1100 Ohms. If it tests good, the next step would be testing the elements can be tested using the brown wire at the terminal DLB out. The bake element OEM11087315 would be tested from the brown wire to the yellow wire at terminal BA and should measure about 27 Ohms. The broil element OEM15996569 would be tested from the brown wire to the blue wire at terminal BR and should measure about 17 Ohms. If both fail testing, the safety thermostat OEM9633488 just to the left of the terminal block is likely the cause of failure and it can be verified by testing for continuity. If the safety thermostat does not have continuity, it has failed.

Coffee pot was on counter above the wall oven and some of the coffee ran over and spilled into the front of the oven making the circuit board short out. I took the board out and fond some wet area's along with seemed to look shorted out electric area's. I ordered a new board from appliance pros and turned it back on and that happens is the pf (power failure) flashes an the 12:00 flashes and starts to keep time but I cannot set clock or anything. No matter what button I push there is no response. Is there a chance that the new board is bad. Or is there something else I need to check.

1 Answer

Hello David. Make sure the ribbon cable is seated properly into the control board. If so, then the control panel 318271516 is bad. The control panel 318271516 has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part.

Oven control board display seems normal, keypad functions and clicks are heard, but no heat. Voltage is available on one side (L1) of BAKE and BROIL elements when controls set "on", but cannot get L2 through Range Clock Control - 316418720 "K4" contact. No continuity when checked with ohmmeter (wires removed). There is continuity through "Safety Thermostat", and power passes through it. If I remove wires "BR-6" and "R-6" from the "K4" contact and jumper them together, then turn on from keypad, the requested heater element comes hot with full 240V. "K4" contact just isn't closing. Is there some control logic stopping it, or is it simply a bad output relay on the control board and the whole board must be replaced? Thanks!

Hello Bob. Yes, based on the information you provided, you will need to order and replace the control board 316418720 on the unit.

Kevin, You will want to check the oven sensor on the unit to make sure that it is within specs. The sensor should have a resistance reading of 1090 ohms. If it is out of tolerance then you will want to replace the sensor. If the sensor checks ok then most likely the control board is faulty.

John, This issue does sound like the control board is faulty as opposed to being anything else.

Rick for Model Number Frigidaire Wall Oven pleb30s9dca

My Frigidaire Wall Oven (pleb30s9dca) shot sparks out of the front when turned on. The control module circuit board is charred by the relay and obviously needs to be replaced. Is this failure due to the relay on the control module circuit board, or could it be caused by something else? I want to know if simply replacing the control module will solve the problem, or if there are other diagnostic procedures I can follow to troubleshoot the root cause.

1 Answer

Hello Rick. It sounds like the board shorted out and will need to be replaced. You should be fine with just replacing the board.

JD, If the oven sensor is reading ok then you will also want to check the wiring for the sensor back to the clock assembly. If this checks ok then most likely the clock is at fault.

Jim H for Model Number PLEB30S9FCB Frigidaire/wall Oven

My Frigidaire Convection Oven has a "Convection fan" that operates only part of the time. It comes on at first, then goes off and does not comeback on. I tried messing with the "Oven Door Switch" which shuts things OFF when you open the door, but could not get the FAN to start that way. (The CONVECTION FAN MOTOR seems OK, only because it runs just fine for a few moments when you first turn on the oven.) QUESTION: SHOULD I REPLACE THE Clock/Time Control Panel?? (Your price is about $240)?? Please let me know, I would much appreciate.

1 Answer

Jim, You will want to check the wiring to and from the convection fan motor. If the wiring checks ok then you would need to replace the control board.
