Sweet Sue for Model Number LTF6700FS

After being away for the summer, the washer gives an E41 error message. I replaced the door latch module with no improvement. In an earlier answer to someone else you said to measure the resistance of the PTC. I have a V-O-M and would gladly to it, but don't know what a PTC is. There are seven prongs on the latch module; across which two do you measure the resistance?? Also, I've heard that you can also test by jumpering across one of the plugs. Which plug?? So now I have two door latches. Before I buy the control module I'd like to be sure that it is the problem. Any further ideas? Thank you.

Answer

Hello Sweet Sue. If the door lock assembly is new, you need a new control board. E41 Control board thinks the door switch is open. In the J2 plug on the control, measure voltage from the black wire to ground with power on. 0 volts. Check the door strike. If good, replace the door switch assembly. 120 volts. Replace the control board.
