Melanie R. for Model Number FRS20ZRGW1 Hello, My Water dispenser began to dispense slowly and then stop altogether. The ice then stopped. I defrosted the freezer and now it is making ice. However, the water will not come out. It gets to the Pure Source filter and I have gotten it to produce about a glassful of water out of the door, then nothing. At present I do not have a filter cartridge in, as I thought that maybe it was bad and have not went out to buy another one. Can you help. Thanks for this site. I have successfully repaired my stove and dryer using this site!
Answer Hello Melanie. You need to remove the water line from the bottom of the freezer door. Then test the dispenser and see if the water is coming out down there. If so, the water line in the freezer door is frozen and will need to be thawed out. if there is no water there, remove the line from the valve and see if you get water out of the valve. If not, replace the water valve 218832401 on the unit. If there is water there, then the filter head 218904404 may be bad and need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
