Kirby for Model Number FWT647GHSO I noticed my clothes were still wet after washer through. Tried out and tub not spinning to wash or fast spin. Pump clear and door switch working. Can fake out door switch and put timer knob to were drum should move back and forth for fluffing after high speed spin. If I assist the drum a little it will spin clockwise and then if I assist it it will spin counterclockwise, but not on its own. I think its a bad board (triac?)
Answer Hi Kirby. Use a volt/ohm meter part #@ MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. The door latch may be closed and allow tumbling only, not a full speed spin. If the bi metal contact inside the door latch does not tightly close then it is not allowing the full high speed spin on purpose for a safety issue. Door latch is part # 131763256. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. If you double check the wiring harness connections from the main control board to the speed controller part # 134149220 and back to the motor part # 134869400. Use the ohms scale on the meter to insure the motor windings are within technical spec's and not shorted one by one to motor frame and chassis. Thank You. Read More...
