Jmayer for Model Number jk2905av My bake element recently burned out in the upper oven of my 45 year old GE JK2905AV double wall oven so I purchased and installed a wb44x169 bake element to replace the broken one. Installation of the new element was smooth. Simply re-connect 2 wires to the leads on the element and re-connect the temperature limiter to the element. However, it now takes a very long time (about 40 minutes) for my oven to preheat to 425 degrees. Previously it would take about 15-20 minutes to preheat to 425 degrees. Any ideas as to why it now takes so long?
Answer Jmayer, It appears that you have gotten the wrong bake element for your unit. The reason that there may be a time difference would be the wattage of the element. The one that your unit calls for would be a 3100 watt element and if the one you received is lower wattage it will take more time to heat properly. The part number that is for your unit would be WB44X200. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, August 10, 2016
