Tommy H. for Model Number JBP78WY1 The baking element comes on after waiting 20-30 minutes. I tested the bake element with a multimeter. I believe a reading over 50 indicates the element is bad. My reading was 16.2. Should I replace the element or should I suspect there is something else wrong? Also, the wires are not slip on; they have a plate with screw holes. Is that a problem with a new element? Thanks
Answer Hello Tommy, The element sounds good. You need to trip the breaker off and back on, then re-try the unit. If one side of the breaker is tripped it will only have 120Vac to the element and will produce your issue. If this doesn't get you going, you will need to test the temperature sensor. It should read about 1100 ohms at about 70°F. If it reads good both at the sensor and the connection point to the control, replace the control WB27X10311. Read More...
