Dan for Model Number GSH25JFRFCC The refrigerator gets the freezer to -8 and continues to run. If I turn the temp control knob to 2 from 5 the compressor will stop running. Is the temperature control bad. How do I check it? Have changed all three thermistors, temperature thermostat, and heater. Only things left is the main board and temp. control board. Defroster does cycle.
Answer Dan, unfortunately, there is not a testing procedure for the temperature control assembly WR55X10399. However, based on the information provided, since the compressor will stop operating when the temp control is adjusted, it sounds like the issue would be with the temp control. If there was an issue with the main control registering the temperature readings of the thermistors, then adjusting the temp control would not influence the compressor. The most likely situation is that the temp control is not sending the proper data signal and is causing the main control to attempt to achieve colder temperatures than necessary. Read More...
