Bill for Model Number GE What is the function of the Encoder board assembly and if it malfunctions will it cause freezer and fresh food section not to work?
Answer Hello Bill, The Encoder board is basically your temp control. Yes, the encoder could cause high temps. You should check to make sure that your compressor is running. If it is not running then you would want to check the start relay to make sure it is not bad. You also want to make sure that you are not having heavy frost on the back wall of freezer and evaporator coils being impacted with ice. Read More...
