Mickey for Model Number GTS16DBEJRWW Have a wireless temperature sensor in freezer, alert unit. Set hi temp 25 deg F. Has history monitoring, normally see hi 6-7, low 0-1 deg. Then beeper went off one nite. Been experiencing wild temperature swings. We removed food. Overnite once went to 51 deg. But when it does this, readily cools to near 0 deg. Adjust thermostat to slight cooler. Been fluctuating -10 to above 25. Coil is clean, fan at lower rear back blowing/venting ok. When temperature starts creeps up, fan in freezer not blowing. When temperature starts falling, freezer fan blowing. No frost/ice inside. Have bottled water, freezes hard. But low temperature -8 to -10 range. Too cold. Adjust thermostat slightly to try reach near 0 deg. But later, overnite seeing high 15-16 deg, but not set off sensor monitor high beeper. Frig in garage, ambient temperature mid 90s, humid during day, 78-80 at nights. Thermostat? Or defrost timer or other?
Answer Mickey, The unit being in the higher temp Ambient air will cause the unit to not cool as well as it should except when the temperatures drop. Also when the temperature elevates may be at times where the unit is going into a defrost and would be the reason that the fan is not blowing. If there is an issue with the unit it would more likely have to do with the thermostat on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Sunday, July 18, 2021
