Lynn for Model Number GE Dryer DPSR610EG7WT When replacing dryer switch the metal that was on the old switch did not detach from the wire. How do I get the two pieces of metal apart?
Answer Lynn, Presumably you mean the metal terminals of the switch. If the switch is still intact you can use a small flat blade screwdriver and pry the wire terminal off the switch. If the switch has fallen apart, you will need a pair of pliers and a pair of needle nose pliers as well. Use the "regular" pliers to hold the terminal still and stationary and use the screwdriver or needle nose pliers to pry the wire terminal off the switch terminal. Read More...
