Brice for Model Number Dhdsr48gf3ww My dryer keeps tripping the circuit breaker. It's five years old. I checked the front bearing and the slides and all need to be replaced, but it actually seems to slide pretty freely. Is it likely that this is also the cause of the circuit breakers tripping or must it be something else?
Answer Hello Brice, If you pull the unit apart again and pull the drum out, I bet you will see some burned spots around the back of the drum. You see, when the drum glides wear out and the drum bearing WE3M26, (the part the glides fit into), wears down, the front of the drum is allowed to ride lower than designed. This causes the drum to be cocked forward. This tilt allows the rear of the drum to be crooked and it can contact the heating element. This will either trip the breaker or, in the worst case scenario, it will allow the heating element to "weld" itself the the drum causing the heating element to require replacement also. Read More...
