Answer Barbara, Not really, the dryer should heat, at least until the 20 amp breaker trips open. A 20 amp breaker is "border line" for a dryer, when you figure the average heater element draws 18 to 20 amps, and the running motor will draw another 2 to 4 amps, the breaker will eventually trip open.
