Patrick for Model Number GDT580SMF5ES My dishwasher is not drying the dishes. There is no heat or drying during the sanitize or steam cycles. After reading a few of the comments, I see there could be other issues besides the heating element. so my question is, where should I start to fix this issue?
Answer Patrick, the heating element circuit can be tested at the main control. With the power disconnected from the unit, at connection J703 pin 1 to pin 2 there should be a reading of 23.4 ohms. If there is no resistance reading, then you will want to test the thermal cut off for continuity. If the T.C.O. tests good for continuity, then you will want to test the resistance of the element directly at the element. If there is no resistance at the element, then the element is bad. If there is resistance then there is a break in the wiring. If all of this test good, then the most likely issue is that the main control is not operating properly. Read More...
