Cathy for Model Number GTS18EBRERWW I purchased an IM-6 icemaker accessory kit for this model approximately 18 months ago. Recently, I noticed water coming through the floor in the basement, and upon moving the fridge notice the hose clamp had come off.... I unplugged the unit, cleaned the lines put it back together and replaced the clamp... In the first few days, the line between the back of the fridge and the fill tube seemed to be freezing...so I unplugged the fridge and left it to competely thaw before trying again... Now, everytime the unit calls to "fill" with water...it forces the water tube inlet away from the fridge...and water sprays all over... Help...what can I do to fix this? The unit had been working perfectly fine up to this point. Thank you
Answer Cathy, you'll need to make a few checks and replace the water inlet fill valve WR57X10033 / WR57X10033. Frozen fill tubes are usually due to water "seeping" through the fill valve and setting in the tube and freezing. This could be due to a clogged water filter or low water pressure to the fill valve. Check the water supply tube for twists and kinks as well. Then check and make sure both the freezer and refrigerator doors close and seal properly and the freezer temperature isn't too low(0-5 dgrs.F. is the reccomendation) Read More...
