It doesn't have an installed ice maker but it says that I can install the ice maker kit IM4D. Is it possible to install the IM6D instead? That seems to be a better engineered product.

Victor December 28, 2023 for Model Number GTS22KGNBRBB I replaced the IM6D ice maker last week and it was working just fine. Now, it's sitting with ice inside and the arms are visible, but it won't discharge the ice to begin a new cycle. I tried unplugging the unit, pouring warm water over it as advised and verified freezer temp. Ideas? This thing wasn't exactly inexpensive.

Dan November 05, 2020 for Model Number GE TXF24F Side by side refrigerator The ice dispenser in the door stopped working. The ice maker is fine and back ice. But you I try to get I ice from the door, nothing happens. I don't know if it the switch in the door or the motor that turns the auger. The door diagnostics says everything is ok.
