The Ice Maker is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It is a crucial component responsible for producing and dispensing fresh ice cubes, providing a convenient source of ice for your beverages and other needs. The ice maker is designed to automatically replenish the ice supply, ensuring you never run out.

Symptoms of a bad ice maker include:

  • Failure to produce ice or produce an insufficient amount
  • Ice cubes that are misshapen or stuck together
  • Water leaks or overflow from the ice maker area

Causes of a bad ice maker can range from issues with the water supply line or freezing mechanism, to mechanical failures or blockages within the ice maker itself. Over time, mineral buildup or freezing can also impact the ice maker's ability to function properly.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Hello Matt. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
