Bill for Model Number gsd5560g03ss I turned on the dishwasher and it does not go through the cycles. There is water in the bottom. Is it the pump or the control panel?
Answer Hello Bill, We need a bit more information. Does it ever drain? Do you hear a motor running or trying to run? I would try this as per the tech sheet: FILTER AND DRAIN SYSTEMWill Not Pump Out1. Remove filter screen in back of dishwasher. Check piston valve. It may be jammed by a toothpick or other object. Remove valve and check spring and rubber parts. 2. Check routing of hose system. It must be free from kinks. 3. Drain line check valve must pass water in the drain line direction only. 4. Check for blocked or partially blocked drain line and air gap. If you hear the motor humming like something is hung in it, try this as per the tech sheet: MOTOR-PUMP MECHANISM Motor Stalled-Hums 1. Disconnect Power. Try to turn motor shaft clockwise to determine if seal is stuck and can be broken loose. If motor shaft cannot be turned, cutter blade may be bound up. Proceed to step 2. 2. On inside of dishwasher, remove sump cover. Remove the grid in the sump and reach down into the sump. Check for blockages such as bone, wire ties, etc. If it contains debris, clean thoroughly. If motor shaft cannot be turned, remove mechanism. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, February 1, 2013
