Don for Model Number GE Installed new ge mwf filter for my GE refrigerator and the water came out black then turned gray and then clear after about 2 gallons of water ran thru it. Is this normal or is the filter bad?
Answer Don, This is normal. The residual charcoal inside the filter will flow through the water system until it is flushed out. It usually takes two to three gallons of water to clear the system.
