Tonya Hello. We have a side by side Ge Refrigerator. It is about 3 years old. Recently is quit making ice and the water dispenser barely puts out any water. I am hoping that it's just the filter that needs replaced but not sure. I do not have the bypass plug anymore. Do I need the bypass plug in the refrigerator in order to know if the pressure loss is from the filter being old?
Answer Tonya, The best way to determine if the filter is the cause would be to either put a new filter in or to put the bypass plug in to check it. If the filter is more than 6 months old, you would want to replace the filter on the unit regardless of whether the issue is the filter or something else. Read More...
