Loretta for Model Number GSL22JFTABS When I push cubed ice button only chipped ice comes out. Can I fix that so I can get cubes?
Answer Hello Loretta, You will need to determine the cause of the dispenser actuator wire not being actuated to correct this issue. Several things can cause this such as an accumulation of ice chips in the bottom of the ice bin, the dispenser actuator wire has missed the stirrup, or the solenoid and arm assembly has frozen or failed. This is basically determined by heating the solenoid with a hair dryer for about 15 minutes to see if the problem clears. If not, check for voltage to the solenoid when it should be energized. If no voltage there, check connections at the wiring harness at the freezer door hinge. If voltage is present, replace the solenoid WR62X23154. Read More...
