Gary for Model Number PFSS9PKY I need to replace the water filter on my GE Profile Model PFSS9PKY French Door Refrigerator for the first time. I understand that I need part No. AP3859302, Mfg. Part No. MWF. The refrigerator came with an accessory which was to be used in conjunction with the change of filter, however, I lost that part. Please identify that part. Do I also need to order it when I order the filter?
Answer Hello Gary, There is no part that is required to replace the filter except for the filter assembly. The part that you are referring to would be the bypass cap which would allow you to operate the unit without a filter in place.
