David i have a GE MONOGRAM trash compactor, when you have about a half load of trash in compactor it goes down fine, but when it starts packing the trash and the motor is loading up to start the up cycle it stops, when there is no load on it, it works fine, need help. david model #ZC3500DSS-01 SERIAL #FG930430W
Answer David, I would have to say that you probably have an issue with the bottom lower limit switch not opening and engaging the start winding on the motor to help start the ram into the upward movement.
