David for Model Number DDC 4580 BAL WH My parents have an older GE dryer and the igniter (WE4X444) has cracked needing replacement - it burnt the spring loaded clip or it's bracket slightly (WE1X941). My question is if the bracket has been compromised and is also needing replacement? Just the metal clips have a minimal burn where the igniter has melted it a bit on one side. The clip still works perfectly to hold the igniter securely. The machine model is DDC 4580 BAL WH and is approaching 30 years with this being its first repair. Anything else to look at that may have caused igniter to fail other than age? Thanks so much! David
Answer Hello David. Usually this just happens due to age and break down. if the bracket is not bad, then it should be fine. If it is bad, then it will need to be replaced with the igniter on the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 23, 2013
