Sally for Model Number JBS55WK2WW Last fall I replaced the heating element in my oven and it has been working great since then. The other day I preheated the oven to bake a roast. When I put the roast in to bake with a meat thermometer, the thermometer almost immediately went off as done. I played with it a couple of times and then realized my oven was blazing hot, way hotter than the 350 degrees I wanted. Is there something else broken that I can replace or is it time to buy a new oven?
Answer Sally, You will want to check the oven sensor to make sure that it is good. The resistance check should be approximately 1090 ohms of resistance on the sensor at room temp. If not then replace the sensor. If it checks ok then you will want to check to see if the broil element shuts off. If not then it sounds like the relay for broil element is stuck and control needs to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, May 13, 2013
