Diana B. for Model Number JTP45W0W1WW I have a GE double wall oven. It bakes ok, but when I try to run the self clean cycle in the top oven, I get an F-3 error code. I usually have to turn off the power to get it to shut down and let it cool. Would it be the sensor that is bad? and the number on the sensor isn't the same description when I pull up a part photo.
Answer Hello Diana, F-3 is a shorted or open sensor. This can also be the result of contamination on terminals, a pinched wire in the sensor circuit, or a cold solder joint on the control board. To test the sensor, using an ohm meter the sensor should read about 1100O at about 70°F. Be sure to tap on the sensor while testing in case of an intermittant sensor. The part number shown for this model by GE is WB23T10015. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, January 5, 2013
