Kathleen A Saratoga , CA January 11, 2023 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range ZET938SF2SS GE Monogram oven temp was too low and it took a long time to cook food. In the middle of Christmas baking, I noticed that it was taking a really long time to bake bread. Since I had already done 5 batches and the timing was always the same, I knew when I had to add 20 min, something was wrong. My oven thermometer (I bought at target) no longer worked so it was hard to tell the exact temperature. First, I went and bought a new thermometer to see the actual temp, then I set the oven to 350 degrees and checked to see what the thermometer was showing. It was almost 50 degrees too low. I ordered both the Bake Element and the Temperature Sensor from AppliancePartsPros.com since those two were the most likely cause of the issue. The Broil Element would light up when I set it to broil, so I ruled out that as an issue. I turned off the circuit breaker for the oven and in this case, I had to remove the door. There is a pan coving the bake element at the bottom of the oven. In most cases, use a screwdriver to push the locking tabs toward the door and you can unlock your oven door. Lift it up and set it aside. The bottom tray will slide right out. You will need a 1/4" socket to remove the screws in the GE Monogram. I had a screwdriver with that on the end. I had to remove the two screws that held the baking element, the four that held the broil element (to get to the temperature sensor) and the one that held the temperature sensor. Be careful when you pull out the elements as to not disconnect the wires. In my case, all items were retrievable from inside the oven, so I did not have to remove the oven from the wall. A second set of hands helps with holding a flashlight. It's dark without the oven light! I did a quick test to make sure the element worked before putting the tray back in and the door back on. I put it all back together, turned on the oven to 350 and watched my oven get to temperature. One thing I noticed is that the oven gets to temperature faster than it did before. You won't need a repairperson to do this job, maybe just a second set of hands, or a big bright light! Mustapha B Fremont , CA September 02, 2014 Appliance: General Electric Gas Range J2S968SH3SS Kept getting f2 or my ge profile oven The oven was basically not useable. After determining that the sensor arm was defective, I ordered the replacement from Appliance Parts Pros. Ordering was easy - entered the model and serial number into the web site, and there were assembly drawings with part numbers. This is quite impressive and made ordering the correct part very easy. Most important, the part was in stock. It was shipped the same day and arrived the next day. The video detailing how to install the sensor arm was quite explicit. Once the part was received, it took me 10 minutes to install and test. Great service and most of all the prices for the assembly as well as shipping were extremely reasonable. Lee L Cheney , WA July 26, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Electric Range JD968BF2BB F2 error code Smoothly. Took a chance whether the problem was the temperature sensor versus the control board. Fortunately, it was the sensor and problem solved; cost approximately $20 versus $400+ to replace control board. Ken J Sun City West , AZ December 21, 2015 Oven had a bad temperature sensor over and under heating Since I have used appliance pros in the past, I just noted the model number on the name plate and then looked at the exploded diagrams and the video on the temp sensor and made the decision to replace it since all the other discrete components were not related to the temp setting being off. The part was here in two days, the video showed how to install it and the rest is history.
