Customer Questions and Answers for Spark Module by Ge

By: Ge
Part Number: OEM6061719
Manufacturer Part Number: WB13K25

The Spark Module is an OEM replacement part for GE gas ranges. It is responsible for generating electric sparks to ignite the gas burners on the cooktop. The spark module produces consecutive sparks when a surface burner knob is turned on, which ignite the gas mixture and allows the burner flame to ignite safely and consistently.

Causes of a bad spark module can include faulty electrodes, worn internal components that hamper sparking, or damage due to moisture intrusion or power surges over time.

Symptoms of a bad spark module include:

  • Burners that will not ignite or only intermittently ignite
  • Flashback or burning above the burner head
  • The smell of gas when turning burners on

This GE replacement part is also compatible with models from Hotpoint, RCA, and certain Kenmore gas ranges.

Sara for Model Number WFG540H0AS0

Follow up to your answer: Sara, With not hearing the sparking then this issue will most likely be caused by power not coming from the control board to the spark module and the control board will need to be replaced. The control board part number is WPW10349742. Firstly, thank you for getting back to me, I have done as instructed and installed a new control board, and it hasn't solved the issue. The oven still display's 100° and is not heating, do you have any further suggestions, could be the thermostat?

Answer

Hello Sara. if there is no spark, then the next step is the module WPW10331686. If there is spark, then test the gas valve and see if it is bad. the coils should have a resistance reading of 216 ohms resistance across the coil terminals, with the wires removed " Check between each solenoid for 216? resistance. (Measure between the two Broil valve terminals the two Bake valve terminals. NOTE: Always check both solenoids. If one of the solenoids is defective, neither one will work."
