Kevin for Model Number GE tfx25jr There is a previous question on how to install this but it makes no sense and gives no accurate detail of where the spring fits into the chute actuator arm. I need a step by step on how to hook this spring up, where it connects to and how it stays in place. please help asap it is in my garage in pieces!
Answer Kevin, This answer is the most detailed answer that we can give as there are no specific written instructions from the manufacturer about installing the part. Look behind the removed fountain control board and looking straight at the chute flapper in the closed position. The spring part # WR2X8663 is on the lt. side. The straight end of the spring is in the up position and it holds the chute tension as it is pointed back up towards you. The square formed hook end is placed through the chute actuator arm part # WR17X3089. The chute actuator arm has a hole that the hooked end will go into. Then the small metal bracket and screw holds the left side as it pivots. Then the rt. side of the act. arm is placed through the solenoid plunger slotted upper area. Read More...
