Dj for Model Number GSL25JTABS My GE refrigerator stopped dispensing water but is making ice. The control panel seems to be working, the ice auger works. I am not sure what part to get. I am looking at the Dispenser Switch as a possible solution. The water filter has been removed and replaced with the Mwf by-pass plug. Is it possible that water inlet valve solenoid (AP6995571) is not working correctly and that is the problem? What do you recommend?
Answer DJ, at the bottom of the freezer door will be a tubing connector. If the connector is removed and the tubing from the cabin placed into a cup or bowl, the dispenser paddle can be pressed to see if water comes through or not. If it does, the tubing in the freezer door has frozen up. If not, then the water valve WR57X33326 would need to be tested for 120VAC when the paddle is pressed. If there is voltage, no lines are frozen, and no water comes through the tubing then the valve has failed. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, February 3, 2022
