Milan M for Model Number GE TFX25PPBBWW On my side by side GE Profile, the fresh food section works fine (around 38F), but the freezer is around 20F with the temp control turned to the coldest setting for both sides. I haven't checked the coils yet, but was wondering if that could be either the cold control or the damper. I've also noticed that the ice maker has been making less (and smaller) ice in the last month. Don't know if that's because of the loss of cooling or possibly a leak.
Answer Milan, You will definitely want to check the coils on the unit to make sure that you have a complete frost pattern. An incomplete frost patter could be caused by a leak in the refrigerant system. You will also want to check to make sure that the condenser fan motor is working. An inoperative fan motor would cause the compressor to shut down prematurely. This would cause the compressor to overheat and shut down. Read More...
