James for Model Number PSI23SGRBSV Freezer was dripping the Ice and the temperature readings at the top of the refrigerator were off. This happens at different parts of the day. Freezer said 7° when it was 22° and fresh food was off 10° also. I replaced the defrost thermostat this morning with the WR50X10068 and replaced one of the Thermistors right next to it in the freezer WR55x10025. It has been 2 1/2 hours and the freezer dropped to 28 degrees but the fresh food side has not changed at all. still 48° on the readout. What next? There are a few other thermistors but I am not sure what the next steps are. PLEASE HELP as I am going nuts!
Answer Hello James, First of all, you have to allow 24 hours to even hope for a stabilization in the units' temperatures. You also should press in on the door switch and make sure the evaporator fan motor WR60X10185 is running up to speed. These fan motors are bad to turn too slowly. If you can stop the fan blade and it does not come back to full speed immediately or it has to be bumped to start, it will have to be replaced. You should also check the damper for a frost build-up. If there is a frost build-up in the damper, you should check for air leaks around both door seals and the ice door. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, February 5, 2014
