Jeff Dalseg for Model Number PSC25MWCSS I've done a ohm test on the J1 plug and got readings of 16.2 on #1 and 2 sockets with the common on # 5, but I get 31 and 32 on #3 and 4, reading from left to right, does this mean both the freezer and evaporator thermistor have failed? Also the problem started as the evaporator coil freezing up and not going into defrost mode. The test was done with the coil totally in a block of ice.
Answer Jeff, On the J1 connection the pins number 1 and number 2 to Pin 5 would both be for the refrigerator section which would be a normal reading for the temp with both showing the same. If you are getting 31K ohms and 32K ohms on both of the pins 3 and 4 then this would be a issue with thermistor. The freezer thermistor would most likely be good because of the elevated temp in the freezer but the evaporator thermistor would be faulty and need to be replaced. Read More...
