David for Model Number PSS25MGNAWW I did the system self test and it came back with a 0 on thermistor 5 which is the freezer thermistor. Which is a failed thermistor. Is this (your part # AP3185407) (GE part #WR55X10025) the correct part to fix that issue? Also, what does this thing do? My freezer seems to be working correctly. Thanks and keep up the great work you guys do. You have saved me a bunch of money by being able to repair this stuff myself. -David
Answer Hello David. Yes, WR55X10025 is the correct thermistor for the model number you provided. The thermistor reads the temperature inside the freezer, and there is one on the coils that works the defrost cycle. They are made to read the temperature and send it to the control board using an ohms value reading. If the code says it is bad, you will need to replace the thermistor. Hope this helps. Read More...
