Michele for Model Number PWE23KSKBSS Freezer compartment temperatures are all over the place (typical range when set at 0 is 17-40 degrees. Had GE techs come out 3 times, first time they told me the door was being left open (it wasn’t), then they switched out the main board (didn’t help) and last they told me they thought it was faulty door switches (the computer was telling them the doors had open/closed 600 times in 8 days- clearly wrong). Door switches all replaced and still not coming back into normal tempuratures. We just replaced the temp sensor in the back of the freezer compartment, thinking that might help- nothing. Could they have installed a bad board? Is it more likely a sealed system issue (valve stuck)? They are coming out for a 4th time and I’d like to have some intelligent questions and requests to ask. This unit is only 3.5 years old- it would kill me to have to replace it already.
Answer Michele, For a freezer compartment that is fluctuating between 17 and 40 and not going any lower sounds likely that there may be a sealed system issue. Possible restriction of the lines but would suggest checking to see what the coils in the freezer look like. A frost pattern where there is just a partial frost pattern would be a sealed system.
