Jeremiah for Model Number gss20iephww The lower section of my freezer and refrigerator seem to be working properly , but the top half of my freezer is at 58 degrees. I replaced the mother board and the defrost heater is only 2 months old and I can hear the water dripping and boiling off of it so it is still working as well. Where should I go from here?
Answer Hello Jeremiah, You should check to make sure that your evaporator fan is working properly. An inefficient or not working fan motor will cause the freezer temperature to rise. Also check to make sure that you are getting complete defrost. A partial defrost will also cause higher temperatures. Your evaporator thermistor should read 42.5K ohms at 0 degrees and 14K at 37 degrees. Make sure that condenser fan is running and that the condenser coils are clean. Also check to make sure that there is nothing blocking the vents. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, November 20, 2012
