Jmg for Model Number PSS26LGSBWW I have a GE side by side Profile. In the freezer side (ice maker), the ice cubes in the container begin to melt and drip down to the lower part forming icicles as they water drips and frozen items begin to thaw, and on the back were the vent is and presume the refrigerator coils are located I can see some frost. At the same time on the refrigerator side, the vegetables, milk and other food items begin to freeze. If I disconnect the unit an allow for all the ice to melt (5 hours) and then reconnect, it begins to work fine for a day or two, and then everything starts happening again. Can you help?
Answer Hello JMG, You would want to check to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is operating properly and check to make sure that the thermistors are within range. The resistance range on the thermistor should be at 77 degrees 5Kohms, at 37 degrees 14 K ohms and at 0 degrees 42.5k ohm. If not within range then you would need to replace the thermistor.
