Cheryl for Model Number PSC23MGSAWW Fridge section cools fine. Freezer not freezing very well even though turned up to max of 9. Top shelf at about 20 degrees, bottom basket at 11-15 degrees, but did reach 6 degrees after being away from home for a month. Refer used to "moan". That has stopped. Fan down at bottom in back goes off when either door opened; otherwise it runs all the time. Water seems to be frozen in ice cube tray, but cubes not being dispensed (ice maker is turned on). A little bit of frost accumulation on back interior freezer panel.
Answer Cheryl, You will want to pull the rear cover of the freezer compartment to check the frost pattern of the evaporator coils. The evaporator coils should have a full even pattern of frost on them. If not then you will want to check the condenser coils to ensure that they are clean and check to make sure that the condenser fan motor is operating. If the fan is not running you will want to check to make sure that it is getting power. If it is then replace the fan. IF coils are dirty they will need to be cleaned. Read More...
