Jasen for Model Number NBXR333EG2WW Electric dryer works great, heats, drum turns, etc... When dryer is running and door is opened, drum stops turning, but the heating coil remains on. BIG fire hazard! Why does this happen?
Answer Jasen, There are a couple of possibilities, check the element and wires, if either is "shorted" to the chassis ground, the element will remain energized(120 VAC) and can heat constantly. The motor centrifugal switch has a "heat circuit" that closes and supply's the L2 power to the element.
