Betty for Model Number GHWP1000M0WW My ten year old GE washer will fill with water but occasionally (Not always) not agitate. The timer goes through the wash cycle and you can hear the control timer making a loud noise. I say loud but I’m not sure that’s abnormal because I don’t listen to it when it’s working properly. It does have a bad smell when it’s not agitating as well. The timer will then move to the rinse cycle, agitate a couple minutes and then drain out. I called the local appliance parts store and explained my problem and they said it was the capacitor so I replaced it but it’s still doing it. The agitator does not move freely when it’s empty. Thank you for your time. Any help is appreciated. Betty
Answer Hello Betty, based on the symptoms it sounds like the timer is failing, it is part WH12X10478. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, November 2, 2020
