Doug January 02, 2021 for Model Number GE GTWN3000M0WS Washing machine will work just fine on super load size setting but will not drain on large size load setting.
1 Answer Doug, it would be recommended that the front panel is removed and the drain pump WH23X10030 is tested for 120VAC during the drain cycle. If it is receiving voltage and is not draining, it has failed. If it is not receiving voltage, the timer WH12X10478 would need to be tested for 120VAC at the black wire found on pin 16. If there is voltage, there is a break in the wire that would need to be located and repaired. If there is not 120VAC, then the timer has failed and would need to be replaced. The timer uses an internal pressure switch bypass during the drain cycle. Read More...
Betty November 02, 2020 for Model Number GHWP1000M0WW My ten year old GE washer will fill with water but occasionally (Not always) not agitate. The timer goes through the wash cycle and you can hear the control timer making a loud noise. I say loud but I’m not sure that’s abnormal because I don’t listen to it when it’s working properly. It does have a bad smell when it’s not agitating as well. The timer will then move to the rinse cycle, agitate a couple minutes and then drain out. I called the local appliance parts store and explained my problem and they said it was the capacitor so I replaced it but it’s still doing it. The agitator does not move freely when it’s empty. Thank you for your time. Any help is appreciated. Betty
1 Answer Hello Betty, based on the symptoms it sounds like the timer is failing, it is part WH12X10478. Read More...
Gina May 11, 2020 I just replaced a washing machine drain pump and noticed that the old one said 2 minutes on 10 minutes off but the new one says 10 minutes on 50 minutes off. I can't find out the difference anywhere on the internet. Can you explain this to me and if one is better or worse than the other. I would really appreciate it . Thx Gina also the older one which was not original was made in mexico and this new one is from China..... not sure how they compare.
1 Answer Gina, We wouldn't be sure "how they compare", either. But the on and off minutes you referred to, is sometimes referred to as a "duty cycle" the higher or longer the run time/on time, the more "stout" the motor and should reduce the probability of failure. Read More...
Gaylen March 18, 2020 for Model Number GTWN3000M0WS washer had been working, was going to wash another load and washer wouldn't fill. When lid is shut will start to agitate with no water in tub. Because of no incoming water with lid open or shut and wanting to agitate when lid closed and main switch is on I"m thinking main timer? Other thoughts?
1 Answer Gaylen, First, check the WH12X10476 Switch, Pressure, and the WH41X365 Pressure Switch Hose. If air or water is trapped in the tube or the pressure switch and the circuit is "stuck" in the full tub position, the washer will not fill and will agitate with an empty tub. Disconnect the tube from the switch, and blow in the end of the tube, you should hear the air enter the bottom of the tub. then check for a "closed' circuit from COM (yellow/red) wire terminal to the terminal 15 (violet)wire terminal, If all's OK, then replace the timer. The model number can usually be found either under the lid or behind the user panel. If the model number could be provided in a new inquiry, this will allow for the most accurate information to be presented. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Read More...
Bryant June 20, 2017 for Model Number GTWN3000MOWS In the wash cycle everything works good (different water levels work good... now that I replaced the plastic tub and the air flow hose that was clogged!), but in the rinse cycle it only fills to about the small load level then agitates for 10 seconds and moves on. The pump pumps the tub dry before it goes into the rinse cycle. Everything seems to be working fine except for the rinse cycle. Could this be a WH12X10478 timer issue? Thanks, Bryant.
1 Answer Bryant, No it's not likely a timer issue, it actually sounds "normal". On "E" style washers(energy star) in order to meet and maintain DOE standards, the rinse cycle fill level is reduced and is automatically cold water(unless you have a warm water option), " The minimum fill volume is 9 gallons. The water level measures approximately 7½ inches (6 holes) above the bottom of the basket. The maximum fill volume is 22 gallons. The water level measures approximately 15 inches above the bottom of the basket (between holes 2 and 3 from the top". Read More...
El June 12, 2017 for Model Number GHWP1000M0WW Washer functions properly (fills, agitates, drains and shuts off) until it reaches to Rinse & Soak cycle. In this cycle the washer either fill with a little bit of water and spin for 1 minutes then stops or no water fills at all. The timer is still on and arrow is still moving. When the arrow reaches to Drain and Spin cycle, the washer drains no matter there is water or not but it doesn't spin. So clothes are still wet at the end of washing cycle. The washer was making noise but not spinning at all. I checked the pressure switch and tube and they seem fine (they were replaced last year). I also re-set the washer 2 times. Removed the main switch and put it back in to ensure they were in place. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer El, For this issue it sounds like it would most likely be caused by a faulty timer on the unit. The part number for the timer is WH12X10478. Read More...
Ronda April 18, 2016 for Model Number WPRE615OK2WT Washer fills, agitates, drains and shuts off without spin cycle ever coming on. Tried to use separate spin cycle but will not work, as well as timer on that cycle does not work.
1 Answer Hello Ronda, You should open the control panel and pull the tech sheet. Remove the main front and check for fault codes on the motor board under the smetal shield. This will point you in the direction of the issue. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Gerti. The model number will have to be verified on the units I.D. tag since the one listed came up invalid. This will be necessary to look up and specific parts such as the one you requested. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. We will need your model number to help you with this. 1 Answer Hello Bill. You will need to check the timer on the washer and see if it is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
