Howard for Model Number GLDP280ED0WS I just received my order for a GE dryer timer. I installed the dryer timer, but it doesn't work like the previous one. I installed the wires exactly the same, but there is no definite feel on the timer as to where one cycle ends and the other begins. The dial feels mushy as you turn it. The buzzer sounds, but not where you would expect it. Previously the buzzers started sounding near the end of the dryer cycle, now they buzz 30 minutes before the cycle ends. The dryer timer I took off was a NormPacific Model# TMD14M08.
Answer Howard, the timer should have a smooth movement to it when rotated. In regards to the timer buzzer, the buzzer should start sounding when the unit is in a cool-down period. However, if the extra care switch is on, the buzzer will cycle on and off for an extended period of time. If the extra care switch is not on, then it is possible that the timer is not operating properly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, October 24, 2019
